Canon Inkjet Large Format Printers | Canon Printer

Every one of us downloaded images from the internet and then printed them as posters or large photographs for our home or office. The image looked perfect on your computer screen, but sometimes when you printed it finds that the picture is blurry and pixilated. Either it printed at the small size, or it printed at a proper size but looked blurry.  It is called image resolution with Canon printers. It is the detail an image it holds.

Print Resolution, What Is It?

The resolution, in terms of print, is simply the level of detail in a printed image. In other simple words, it is a measure of the quantity of dots that a device can put in the page space. Higher resolution means higher details, more dots (of ink) that are printed per inch.

Resolution is an essential element when it comes to printing. A high-quality image looks beautiful and professional. A low-resolution image looks indistinct, fuzzy, and completely unprofessional. Print resolution is defined by a horizontal and vertical measurement portrayed in this fashion – 600 x 600dpi.

Above mentioned sequence means the first number depicts the number of horizontal dots, and the second shows the number of vertical dots. On a Canon printers, the vertical resolution is determined by the ‘stepping’ of the page through the printer. The horizontal resolution is determined by the number of dots the print head can put down on each pass.

Print resolutions vary significantly depending on the type of printer and its function. General office use Printers will not usually offer a resolution higher than 1200 x 1200dpi. In contrast, special printers like Canon Printers, known as the best printers for photos, can produce resolutions up to 9600 x 2400.

Some Information About DPI And PPI:

Most people confuse about the term DPI and PPI. Here we discuss thoroughly to understand the fundamental terms used in print resolution.

DPI is the abbreviation of dots per inch. It describes as a measure of the resolution of a printed document or digital scan. When the density of dots per inch is higher, a print or a scan resolution will be higher. DPI is also defined as a number of dots placed in a line across one inch or 2.54 centimeters.

PPI is another term that is very important in print resolution. It is the abbreviation of Pixels per inch. That is refers to the fixed number of pixels that a screen can display. It also means the density of pixels which are the smallest building blocks within a digital image.

PPI only refers to images displayed digitally. A print doesn’t have a PPI measurement because it’s not made up of pixels. In high quality, crisp image, there are more pixels per inch (PPI).

There are few standards and guidelines for using DPI in print resolution.

1. Low-Resolution Images

There is a range of DPI for an image to categorize it in terms of resolution. A low-resolution image is that which has 150 dpi or less. These types of images will have blurring and pixelation after printing.

Low-resolution images are only suitable for scanning text documents and store records digitally. Most of the time, it is used in Internal office communication.

But anything that is outside the office should be higher than 150dpi. After all, the printing quality needs to represent your business.

2. Medium-Resolution Images

A DPI range between 200 dpi to 300 dpi is referred to as a medium resolution image. However, the standards for quality photographs and images are typically 300dpi.

External documents outside the office like a brochure, a booklet, or a flyer require 300dpi. Marketing material like Booklets, pamphlets, reports, and sales sheets should be in the range of250dpi-300dpi or more.

3. High-Resolution Images

High-resolution images are 600 dpi or more. These images require more memory to store and can take longer to scan. An ordinary inkjet printer can’t reproduce high-quality and high-resolution images. Only Professional and best printers for photos like canon Printers are often the best solutions for high-resolution images.

Some Important Terms About Print Resolution:

When we are talking about the pixels per inch, a question comes to mind what is it? In a print resolution, a sense to speak is ink drops instead of pixels. The print head of a printer does not only make movements in a row. Some movements are made from top to bottom vertically.

One of the largest printer manufacturers, HP printer, specifies the value 4,500 x 1,100 dpi for its Desk Jet. It means that their printer can print 4,500 dots in a row and 1,100 dots from top to bottom. Now, what it means? It means it prints a total of 5,760,000 dots per square inch.

All manufacturers do not mention this in this way. Some only mention the first value, which is always the higher of the two. So now, if you see one value in the dpi value of your printer, you must remember that there is also a second value. Even your printer’s first value may be high, but a weak second value can lead you to a poor print result.

DPI and PPI aren’t the only factors that determine the resolution and print quality. Many other factors can have more impact on quality and resolution.

Choose Good Paper:

The paper selection is crucial to get a better print resolution. If you use low-quality paper in the printing process, even a superb printer will only get a satisfactory result. It will be no use if a printer offers a high resolution. Still, the print is not visible on the paper due to the inferior quality.

Your paper should be smooth to get razor-sharp results. These papers do not absorb the ink and print precisely by the printer. Keep in mind that such papers are of high cost. Always use the paper accordingly. Never print a plain text document on high-quality photo paper.

Most Common Print Resolutions:

There are differences between types of printers. Laser printer usually comes with the standard resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. Inkjet printers like photo printers, referred to as the best printer for photos, have a different value of 4,800 x 1,200 dpi.

In some cases, these values increase even further. Printers are now advertised with a dpi value of 9,600 x 2,400, known as canon printers.

Conclusion:

Print resolution seems complicated, but it’s elementary. If you buy a new printer, print resolution is an important criterion. You have to need a different resolution depending on what you’re printing, the size of the image, and the distance it will be displayed from the viewer.

In my opinion, higher is always better. Buy a print resolution device as you can afford to avoid any inconvenience of your work. A suggestion is 300 dpi is a much better resolution, and a Canon printer can give it to you.

Other elements, such as the choice of paper and the quality of the image source, are just as critical. Suppose your work is to print photos regularly. In that case, a Canon printer with a high print resolution combined with high-quality paper is a no-brainer.
